Shepherd Named A-10 Rookie of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Sabrina Shepherd of the Davidson volleyball team has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Shepherd helped Davidson to a 1-1 weekend record in A-10 contests. The middle hitter finished the weekend averaging 3.86 kills and 1.57 blocks per set, along with a .658 hitting percentage.
The Cave Spring, Ark., native had a career-high 18 kills and a .680 hitting percentage. Shepherd also chipped in seven blocks. On Sunday, Shepherd had nine kills on 13 attempts, while contributing four total blocks in a 3-0 victory over La Salle.
This is the second weekly award Shepherd has picked up this season.
Davidson returns to action Oct. 31 at VCU. The match is set for noon.
