'Cats Conclude Fall with 10th Place Finish at Bridgestone

GREENSBORO, N.C. – For the second straight day, a freshman paced the Davidson golf team as Mike Blasey carded a two-under 70 to lead the Wildcats to a 10th place finish Monday at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate hosted by UNCG.
The two-day event was played on the Par 72, 7,245-yard Grandover Resort East Course layout.
David Sargent was the top Davidson (300-296-300 = 896) finisher coming in tied for 31st out of 84 competitors. The senior posted a 54-hole total of 220 (74-73-73), which was two spots and one stroke better than Blasey's 221 (76-75-70).
Purdue (277-266-291=834), which shot a tournament-record 266 in the second round, claimed the team title by two shots over North Carolina (275-272-28-=836).
In addition, the Boilermakers' Austin Eoff (-13) fired an even-par 72 in the third round to win individual medalist.
