'Cats Start Season Friday; A-10 Releases Preseason Poll

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming and diving program starts the 2015-16 season in Greensboro at the All-NC Invitational, a two-day event that begins Friday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The meet starts Friday at 4:30 p.m., while Saturday's events begin at 10 a.m. Live results can be found on the Meet Mobile App and online. Admission is free, but parking will be $5 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
The Wildcats are coming off impressive inaugural seasons in the Atlantic 10 Conference with the men finishing sixth, while the women placed fourth overall at the 2015 A-10 Championships.
Both squads were predicted to finish fifth in the A-10 Preseason Poll. The Davidson men return 16 letterwinners from last year's squad, including senior captain Luke Burton, who qualified for the 2016 US Olympic Trials this past summer and holds six records at Davidson.
The Davidson women return 18 from last season, including 2015 A-10 Most Outstanding Performer Elise Lankiewicz, who earned three individual crowns and was apart of three relay titles at the 2015 Atlantic 10 Championships.
Davidson added nine freshmen this season, five on the men's side and four on the women's.
The Wildcats will have eight dual meets in preparation for the 2016 A-10 Championships and will face three conference opponents through out the regular season.
The 2016 A-10 Championships will be held Feb. 17-20 at the SPIRE Institute located in Geneva, Ohio.
