DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson continues its three-game Atlantic 10 homestand Wednesday when the Wildcats play host for the first time to the Dayton Flyers in a noon tip-off as part of Education Day at John M. Belk Arena.

As part of Education Day, the Wildcats will welcome local schools Lake Norman Charter, Lake Norman Christian, Davidson Day and W.R. Odell Elementary. It is the first Education Day game Davidson has held since Jan. 12, 2012 when it played Western Carolina and welcomed five local schools.

The 'Cats are in a nine-game stretch that spans the entire month of January where they will play six of those games at home, including three straight to open the new year.

OPENING TIP: Quick Hits ...
•Davidson is in its 36th season and reached the 400-win mark, Nov. 20, at Gardner-Webb.
•The 'Cats moved to the Atlantic 10, July 1, 2014, after a 21-year run in the Southern Conference.
•The Wildcats were picked to finish 12th in the A-10 Coaches Preseason Poll.

Last Game Out vs. La Salle ...
•Playing its first-ever Atlantic 10 game, Davidson battled but came up short in its debut to La Salle at home Sunday in a 63-54 decision.
•The Wildcats came out of the gates fast with a 12-3 run in the first four minutes, but the Explorers countered with a 21-5 run for a 24-17 lead and eventually a 34-23 halftime edge.
•A 22-9 run in the first 10 minutes of the second half helped bring the 'Cats even with La Salle at 45-all, but again LSU answered by using a 12-3 run and led by at least five the rest of the way.
•Mackenzie Latt recorded her fifth double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds.
•Dukes added 11 points and eight boards off the bench, while Hannah Early chipped in eight points and had her third game of the year with double-digit rebounds with an even 10.

Early and Latt Among the Top-10 in the Atlantic 10 ...
•Early is eighth in the league in scoring with a team-best average of 15.1 points per game.
•Latt (11.6 ppg) is fourth in rebounding at 8.1 per game, while Early is ninth at 7.5.
•Latt's .493 field goal percentage is eighth-best in the league, while her 27 steals are ninth.
•With her 40 offensive rebounds, Early ranks sixth in the A-10 and her 34 made three-pointers are good for fifth-most.

Conference Openers ...
•Davidson played its first-ever Atlantic 10 game Sunday against La Salle and fell to 12-10 all-time in league openers (12-9 during a 21-year run in the SoCon), while seeing their six-game home win streak come to an end in league openers that have started at John M. Belk Arena.
•All-time the Wildcats are 8-5 in league openers at home and 4-5 on the road.

Home Stats ...
•Davidson is 2-4 at home this year, averaging 62.5 points and shooting 38.4 percent, including 33.7 percent from three-point range. They also are averaging just over 44 rebounds a game.
•Three Wildcats are averaging over 10 points at home, with Hannah Early leading the way on team highs of 13.7 points and 8.2 rebounds a game.
•Latt is pouring in just over 11 points and pulling down eight boards a game, while shooting 44.4 percent. Dukes is the third Wildcat in double figures at 10.3 points a contest.

•Early saw her 13-game streak of scoring in double figures come to an end Sunday vs. La Salle.
•The junior is just 147 points away from reaching the 1,000-point mark for her career.

Scouting the Flyers ...
•Dayton enters Wednesday's contest with a 9-4 overall record and an 0-1 mark in the A-10.
•The Flyers opened league play Sunday against George Washington at home and fell 69-66 in a matchup of A-10 preseason picks No. 1 and 2 teams.
•The defeat snapped a season-high eight-game win streak.
•The Flyers' 31-game home winning streak, the nation's longest, was also broken with Sunday's loss.
•Dayton fell to 13-7 all-time in Atlantic 10 openers and 7-5 in those played at home.
•Senior Andrea Hoover led the Flyers offensively with 15 points, while senior Ally Malott and junior Kelley Austria each contributed 13 points.
