Menden and Paddon Lead Wildcats at Indoor Meet

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Led by juniors Olivia Menden and Sarah Paddon, the women's track and field day team had a strong second day at the Johnson City Indoor Classic.
"I am so proud of the women's team today," said Director of Track & Field Jen Straub. "I thought we ran really well today and are moving in the right direction early on in the season."
Several Wildcats set new personal bests in their events.
The Wildcats went 1-and-2 in the mile run as junior Olivia Menden captured first place with a 5:09.16 mile time, while freshman Sarah Sears wasn't far behind running 5:09.66.
Brigid Behrens took fifth with a time of 5:16.19, while Eliza Lawless ran 5:34.94 to rank 12th.
In the 3,000 meter run, Paddon took first with 9:55.02, 11 seconds faster than the next finisher. Hannah Moerk clocked in at 10:31.59 to finish sixth, while Sierra Ponthiers was the next Wildcat to finish with a time of 10:59.96 to take 14th.
The Wildcats return to the track, Jan. 30-31 at the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational.
