Strong Showing For Wildcats at Johnson City Indoor Classic

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – A long holiday break didn't deter the Davidson track and field team from having a strong outing to start the Johnson City Indoor Classic hosted by East Tennessee State.
Led by Erin Osment, five Davidson distance runners posted indoor personal bests in the 5,000 meter run. Osment posted a time of 17:14.75 to finish second. The senior was less than one second behind first-place finisher Tristin Van Ord from Appalachian State.
Ali Cobb (18:29.80) and Hayden Bates (18:33.59) earned 11th and 12th places respectively. Caroline Turner and Helen Webster were the next Wildcats to finish. Turner posted a time of 18:54.21 to take 18th, while Webster turned in an 18:58.96 to finish in 19th place.
In the 800 meter run, Hannah Rieden crossed the line in 2:19.18 to finish in 13th place, while teammate Ashlyn Gruber posted a time of 2:24.44 to rank 23rd.
