Reiter Named Atlantic 10 Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Alan Reiter of the Davidson men's soccer team has been named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week for games played Sept. 22-28, as announced by the league office Monday.
Reiter led Davidson to a pair of victories last week, including a come-from-behind win over No. 2/3 Virginia on the road. In addition to scoring the game-tying goal in the Wildcats' win over the Cavaliers, the senior from Westport, Conn. scored the eventual game-winner in the Wildcats' 3-1 victory at Campbell over the weekend.
"Alan is demonstrating his skill set, experience and urgency as a senior," said head coach Matt Spear. "He has been finding key moments in matches to make pivotal plays. And along with his offensive production, his impact is also driven by his defending, his ability in the air, and his toughness."
Reiter has a team-best four goals and has assisted on two more for Davidson (5-0-2), which is off to its best start since going 9-0-4 to open the 1982 campaign.
The nationally-ranked Wildcats will conclude their four-game road swing Saturday evening when they head to Dayton for both teams conference opener.
