RALEIGH, N.C. – Brigid Behrens and Andrew Lantz worked their way into Davidson history as a handful of runners represented the Wildcats at the Wolfpack Last Chance meet at Derr Track on the campus of N.C. State Friday evening.
Behrens set a new program record in the 800-meter run at the meet, which serves as a last chance to qualify for the 2014 NCAA East Regionals. Behrens posted a time of 2:11.62 in the outing for a new mark, grabbing third place.
Enhancing his presence on Davidson's all-time lists was Lantz, who also competed in the 800-meter run. Lantz ran a 1:50.54, which serves as one of the top-10 times posted by a Wildcat in the event.
Olivia Menden also claimed a spot in the record books, running the second-fastest time in program history in the 1,500-meter run. She clocked in at 4:35.98, taking 11th place.
Joining Behrens in the 800m were Hannah Rieden and Grace Watt, who took 9th and 11th, respectively. Rieden finished in 2:15.25, while Watt crossed the finish line in 2:18.58. Sarah Paddon took the night off from her signature event, the 1,500m, to take part in the 800m as well, running a time of 2:12.00 for fifth place.
