2013 Recap
Anthony Elias was the highlight of last season's championship, pulling off a number of upsets after entering the tournament seeded seventh to claim the title at 133-pounds. His accomplishments not only earned him Most Outstanding Wrestler honors, but a trip to the NCAA Championships in Iowa. Scott Patrick took third place at 184 pounds and enters as the third seed in that weight this season, while Kevin Birmingham took fourth at 149 pounds. He enters this year as the number two seed.

Birmingham Looking for Records
At 149 pounds, Kevin Birmingham will get a few more cracks at the school record for pins this weekend. The junior leads the SoCon with 13 wins by fall, remaining one short of the Davidson record of 14 in a season.

National Rankings
Birmingham's dominant wins this season put him at the top of the national leaderboards entering the postseason. His 11 pins at the Division I level rank him fifth in the country (he boasts 13 overall). Indiana's Taylor Walsh leads the nation with 20 wins by fall, closely followed by Bucknell's Joe Stolfi with 19.  Birmingham currently ranks 30th in the NCAA Coaches' Poll

Last Time Out
The Wildcats wrapped up the regular season on a high note, picking up their first conference win of the year vs. SIUE. Jordan Wang took a forfeit at 133 and Anthony Elias won by fall at 141 to lead the way for the 'Cats. Davidson also got points from Kevin Birmingham (tech. fall at 149), Philip Elias (decision at 125), Scott Patrick (decision at 184) and an impressive win for Ian Solcz, who moved up for his first career bout at 197.
