DAVIDSON, N.C. – Wildcat divers Kaliya Burton-Akright and Brian McRae have been honored by the CCSA for their performances at the 2014 CCSA Duals Jan. 31-Feb. 2, as announced by the league Wednesday.
Burton-Akright swept the diving events vs. Liberty, Georgia Southern and Howard. The Tampa, Fla., native earned a score of 269.33 in the 3-meter event before recording a score of 257.75 to win the 1-meter event as well. The accolade is her third of the season.
McRae posted the top scores in both events as well vs. Howard at the CCSA Duals. The Portland, Maine, native won the 3-meter with a score of 254.78 before tallying the highest score in the 1-meter with 252.38 points. The week marks his fourth Diver of the Week nod this season.
The Wildcats will head to Knoxville, Tenn., for the 2014 CCSA Championships to be held at the University of Tennessee Feb. 19-21.
