DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson baseball's home-and-home series against Wake Forest will now begin in Winston-Salem Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Wake Forest Baseball Park due to soggy conditions on Wilson Field.
Wake Forest will then visit Davidson Tuesday, March 18 at 6 p.m., when the Wildcats were originally supposed to visit the Demon Decons.
Tuesday will mark the first meeting between the teams since 2009. Davidson head coach Dick Cooke was a recipient of the College Baseball Insider Inspiration Award this past summer that is named after Wake Forest coach Tom Walter. Walter donated a kidney to a freshman outfielder before the 2011 season, which inspired the now annual award. Cooke was honored for returning to the diamond after sustaining serious injuries in a car accident caused by a drunk driver just before the start of fall practice in 2012.
