Wildcats Wrap Up Regular Season at UCS Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Sarah Paddon and the 4x400 relay came away with new program records as the Davidson women's track & field team competed in the UCS Invitational at the JDL Fast Track in one final tune up before the SoCon Indoor Championships.
Paddon set a new mark in the mile, clocking in at 5:02.97 for 14th place. Teammate Erin Osment was 33rd in the event in a time of 5:13.35. Rachel McKay clocked in at 5:34.14 for 53rd place, followed by Maggie Rickard in 58th in 5:41.73.
The 4x400 meter relay of Ashlyn Gruber, Grace Watt, Hannah Rieden and Brigid Behrens also set a new Davidson mark, teaming for a time of 4:02.74 to take fifth in the race.
Other top performers included Molly Marshall, who took third overall in the pole vault, recording a height of 3.20 meters. Behrens was eighth in the 800-meter run, clocking in at 2:17.13.
Also in the 800, Rieden picked up a top-10 finish after running a 2:17.37 for ninth place. Gruber claimed 16th in 2:19.96, while Kate Kostecky finished 26th in 2:23.48. Morgan McGrath was 42nd in 2:29.93.
Jenny Fritz posted a top-10 finish in the 5,000-meter run, taking ninth overall in a season-best time of 19:07.36. Caroline Turner was 16th in the race, also running a season-best in 19:38.05, while Lauren Carter took 24th in her best mark of the season as well (20:24.38).
In the 200-meter dash, Watt claimed 30th after crossing the line in 1:02.38. McGrath ran a 1:03.45 for 35th place.
The Wildcats will rest up for a week before heading back to the JDL Fast Track March 1-2 for the 2014 SoCon Indoor Championships.
