Men’s Soccer Announces 2014 Spring Slate

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Entering his 14th season at the helm, Davidson head men's soccer coach Matt Spear recently announced the Wildcats' 2014 spring slate, which will consist of nine matches.
"The guys have been working hard since the first day of the semester in mid-January," commented Spear. "They have pushed themselves in terms of their strength and conditioning, their technical skills, our tactical evolution, and this new group's brotherhood and winning ways."
Davidson will open the month-long campaign March 12 against the USL Pro Charlotte Eagles and conclude with its annual Alumni Game on April 13 on 1992 Team Field.
Following three straight away from home (Queens, High Point – 3/16; UNCG – 3/22) the Wildcats will host in-state foe Pfeiffer and James Madison in a doubleheader on March 29.
"The matches in the spring are essential opportunities to measure each individual's growth and to galvanize the group's progress."
Davidson, which will begin its first season in the Atlantic 10 this fall, will also battle former SoCon rival Furman and Georgia State on April 5 in Rock Hill, S.C.
"We give the guys different kinds of competition opportunities such as facing pros and two games in a day.
The mission is to channel our sharpness, our fitness, and our ability to embrace and to conquer challenges."
