Shannon Named to Conference All-Academic Team

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Morgan Shannon of the Davidson volleyball team has been recognized for her work in the classroom and on the court as the junior was tabbed to the 2014 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team Thursday afternoon. It is the first such award for Shannon.
Shannon, a biology major, played in 75 sets over 22 matches this season in the libero role. The junior recorded double-digit digs in 15 matches this year to total 282. The Roanoke, Va., native finished the season averaging 3.76 digs per set, which ranks fourth in the conference and 0.56 assists per set.
Davidson finished its inaugural season in the A-10 with a 4-20 overall record and a 2-12 mark in the conference. The Wildcats defeated Saint Louis, 3-2, and George Mason, 3-1.
In order to earn A-10 all-academic credentials, a student-athlete must have at least 3.0 grade point average or better and be a starter or important reserve.
