Franklin Tabbed A-10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week

Davidson, N.C. – Emily Franklin has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Defensive Player of the Week after recording 12 blocks in a 1-1 weekend for the Wildcats, the conference announced Monday.
Franklin shares the honor with Janelle Sykes of VCU.
The Charlotte, N.C., native opened the weekend with a strong performance against Dayton, recording four kills to go with a .800 hitting percentage and five blocks as the Wildcats fell in straight sets.
On Sunday, Franklin helped Davidson rally from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Saint Louis, 3-2, and earn its first Atlantic 10 win. The sophomore middle hitter contributed nine kills, seven blocks and a .500 hitting percentage. Franklin averaged 1.62 kills per set and 1.50 blocks per set for the weekend, while hitting .571.
Franklin currently ranks sixth in the A-10 with an average of 1.12 blocks per set.
The Wildcats next take to the court this weekend when they welcome Duquesne at Belk Arena, on Friday, Oct. 10, before taking on La Salle Sunday, Oct. 12.
