DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a scoreless draw at Virginia Tech Tuesday, Davidson returns to Alumni Stadium this weekend to close out its home slate with a pair of Atlantic 10 contests. The Wildcats will entertain Duquesne Friday at 5:30 p.m. before hosting UMass Sunday at 1 p.m.
In addition to road wins at Virginia and Duke earlier this season, the Wildcats finished 2-0-1 against the ACC, one of the nation's premiere conferences, while moving to 7-2-4 overall.
"We are thrilled to be playing back on our excellent 1992 Team Field and aim to extend our undefeated streak here at Alumni Stadium," said head coach Matt Spear.
Dating back to last season, the Wildcats are unbeaten in their last eight at Alumni Stadium.
In the midst of three contests in six days, Davidson will conclude its regular season with four straight conference games, including trips to Saint Joseph's (Nov. 6) and George Washington (Nov. 9) next week.
Alan Reiter, who leads the team in scoring with five goals and 12 total points, also ranks second among A-10 leaders in game-winners. Fellow midfielder Shane Macnamara paces the club in assists with four, while 11 different Wildcats have found the back of the net this season.
As a team, Davidson is averaging 1.46 goals per game, while allowing just 0.92.
Junior goalkeeper Matt Pacifici has been impressive between the pipes for the Wildcats with a career-high five shutouts this season.
Davidson has never met Duquesne or UMass on the pitch. The Dukes come into the contest, 7-5-2 and 2-2-0 in league play, while the Minutemen enter their contest at UNC Asheville (Friday), 2-14-0 overall.
"Duquesne and UMass will bring motivated, competitive squads. We focus on ourselves - one day and one game at a time – so our mission continues to prepare to perform to peak levels."
"Friday night vs. Duquesne will be awesome since it's Halloween so I anticipate the environment will be electric. And then Sunday will be special as we celebrate our seven excellent seniors that have been integral not just in this season's success but in the growth of the program's culture, profile and ambition."
Prior to Sunday's contest, seniors Max Riehemann, Kristian Garciamendez-Rowold, Alan Reiter, Alex Feliciano, Luke Blades, John Pace and Drew Brown will be honored.
