DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team tips off their 2014-15 season with the first of two exhibitions at John M. Belk Arena, starting Thursday night against Catawba.
The Wildcats will also play host to Queens next Saturday, Nov. 8, at 5 p.m. to wrap up their two-game exhibition season. They then open the regular season on the road, heading to former Southern Conference-foe Furman, Nov. 14.
Quick Notes of the Team and the Season Ahead...
• Tuesday, Oct. 21, was Atlantic 10 Media Day and Davidson was picked to finish 12th in its first season in the league. For more details click here on A-10 Media Day.
• The 2014-15 season will be the program's 36th and the Wildcats are one win away from reaching 400.
• After a 21-year run in the Southern Conference, Davidson officially joined the Atlantic 10, July 1, 2014.
• Davidson went an even 16-16 overall last year and 11-7 in its final season in the SoCon.
• The 'Cats went on to the SoCon Championship game for the second year in a row, before falling to Chattanooga.
• The Wildcats ended their tenure in the league with a 203-164 record and one regular season title, the program's first in 2011-12.
• Davidson has reached postseason play three times, earning bids into the Women's NIT in 2007, 2012, 2013.
• Over the past 12 years, Davidson has won at least 15 games in nine of those seasons.

• Catawba College is located in nearby Salisbury, N.C. with an enrollment of 1,322 students.
• The Indians play in the South Atlantic Conference, which they have been a member of since 1989.
• The Indians are coming off a 14-13 campaign last year, including a 12-10 mark in league play.
• Catawba fell in the first round of the SAC Tournament to Carson-Newman, 82-68, to close out its season.
• Chloe Bully led the team in scoring at 13.9 points per game, while dishing out an team-high 100 assists.
• Jada Huntley returns as the leading rebounder after pulling in just over five boards a game.
• Catawba as a team averaged 65.5 points and shot 37.8 percent from the field.
• Head coach Angie Morton, a 1984 graduate of Catawba, has been at the helm since 2003.
• Morton has compiled a 177-136 record at Catawba.
• She was the 2011-12 SAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Indians to a runner-up finish in the league and the NCAA DII Regionals.
