The Meet
Davidson competes at home in Cannon Pool for the first time this season, with action beginning at 1 p.m. For those that cannot attend, live stats are available at the link above.
The Opposition
The Wildcats are hosting College of Charleston. Both schools are former members of the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association, but CofC departed for the CAA, and Davidson moved to the A-10. The Cougars defeated both the Wildcat men and women, last season in Charleston, but Davidson swept the last time CofC visited Cannon Pool in 2012. CofC has only competed once this season, suffering defeats to a common opponent of Davidson's, East Carolina, on both the men's and women's sides.
First A-10 Win
The Wildcat women became the first winter squad at Davidson to earn a victory over a fellow Atlantic 10 conference member with its victory over Duquesne at the Richmond Shootout last Saturday.
Weekly Winning Wildcat Women
Through three weeks of competition in the 2014-15 season Davidson has claimed the A-10 Women's Swimming Performer of the Week Award all three times. Meredith Nakano led Davidson to a third-place finish behind NC State and East Carolina in the season opening All-NC Invitational. The following week, Lauren Malachowski earned Davidson's lone event win over East Carolina, finishing the 100-yard backstroke in 59.22 seconds, while also competing in the 100 free (54.32) and contributing to a pair of relay efforts. Most recently, Elise Lankiewicz won all of her events against defending conference champion and meet host Richmond, and tallied three wins in the 'Cats' victory over Duquesne.
Up Next
Davidson will take its first weekend off since the start of the season next week, and will then host Queens University at 5:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7. It will be the 'Cats' lone meet in November.
