
Burton, McRae Earn League Accolades

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Wildcat swimmer Luke Burton and diver Brian McRae were selected as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association's Men's Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively, for competition held Jan. 13-19 as announced by the league Wednesday.
Burton claimed a pair of relay wins in addition to an individual victory in Davidson's win over Gardner-Webb Saturday afternoon. The Kennesaw, Ga., native won the 100-yard backstroke in a time of 52.25 and added a runner-up finish in the 200-yard backstroke after clocking in at 1:54.45. Burton was also a member of the first-place 400-yard medley relay and winning 800-yard freestyle relay teams. This week marks the second time this season he has received CCSA acknowledgement.
McRae swept both diving events to help the Wildcats down the Runnin' Bulldogs. His season-high mark of 264.60 earned him the victory in the 3-meter. He also added a win in the 1-meter with a score of 250.25 to earn his third weekly accolade of the season.
The Wildcats return to Cannon Natatorium Jan. 30-Feb. 1 for their final CCSA Duals meet.
