Rieden Sets Program Record in 800m at Niswonger Invite

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Freshman Hannah Rieden set a new Davidson school record in the 800-meter run as the Davidson track & field team completed competition at the Niswonger Invitational, hosted by ETSU at the MHSA Athletic Center Saturday afternoon.
Rieden set a new program mark with a time of 2:18.70, winning the event. The Wildcats placed three more in the top-10, starting with Grace Watt in sixth at 2:24.89. Kate Kostecky followed in seventh in a time of 2:25.81 while Morgan McGrath took eighth in 2:25.98.
Caroline Turner took sixth in the morning's 5000-meter run, clocking in at 19:43.11. Lauren Carter joined her in the event, taking 17th with a time of 20:31.71. Rachel McKay was 20th in the mile, finishing in 5:42.03. Maggie Rickard was 27th in the race, clocking in at 5:51.20.
Pole vaulter Molly Marshall competed at the Pole Vault Summit in Reno, Nev., where she also set a new program record. Her mark of 3.35-meters gave her a second-place finish in her flight of the event.
Davidson will head to Winston-Salem, N.C., to take part in the High Point Team Challenge February 6 at the JDL Fast Track.
