Former Men's Soccer Standout Joins Waterford United Soccer Club

Former Davidson men's soccer standout Chip Sanders '12 recently joined the Waterford United Soccer Club, which competes in Ireland's first division.
“We are so proud of and thrilled for Chip,” said Wildcat head coach Matt Spear. “He has an enormous appetite for the game so I am pumped he has found a spot at the pro level. And I am sure there are a lot of his former Davidson teammates and alumni in general that are quite jealous as playing professionally and living in Europe after graduation is awesome.”
A tri-captain on the 2011 Davidson squad, Sanders finished his four-year career with 17 shutouts, including a single-season record of nine as a senior. He also ranks among Wildcat keepers in minutes played, goals-against average and saves.
