Wildcats Compete at Duke Invite & Terrier Relays

DURHAM, N.C. – A pair of runners represented the Davidson women's track & field team on the final day of action at the Duke Invitational at Wallace Wade Stadium Saturday afternoon while other members of the team competed at the Terrier Relays, hosted by Wofford in Spartanburg.
At Duke, Olivia Menden finished 29th in the 800m run with a time of 2:16.38 for a new personal best. She was joined at the meet by Ashlyn Gruber, who took second in her section of the 400-meter dash and finished 36th overall in 1:00.49.
At the Terrier Relays, Grace Watt finished sixth in the 400-meter dash in a time of 59.45 to move into fifth place all-time with a new career best. Gracie Gordon had a strong effort in the 100-meter dash, finishing 13th overall in 12.99.
Gordon also competed in the long jump, taking 11th place. She recorded a distance of 4.83 meters.
The Wildcats will head to Rock Hill, S.C., April 12 for a final tune up at Carolina's Cup before taking part in the 2013 Southern Conference Championships April 20-21.
