Davidson Hands Out 2012-13 Athletic Awards, Aleksandravicius and Onken Capture Top Honors

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College has announced its award winners for the 2012-13 athletic season, including the Tommy Peters Award (senior swimmer Drew Onken- a three-time CCSA Swimmer of the Year and school-record holder of four individual events) and the Rebecca A. Stimson Award (senior forward Sophia Aleksandravicius- a two-time SoCon Women's Basketball Player and Defender of the Year, and the program's all-time record holder in seven offensive and defensive categories), honoring the college's top male and female athletes.
In recognition of their outstanding dedication and contribution to intercollegiate athletics, senior men's basketball and three-time SoCon All-Academic JP Kuhlman was presented with the Thomas D. Sparrow Award, while field hockey's Sarah Fisher, the NorPac East Defensive Player of the Year, received the Susan K. Roberts Award. Grant Smith was recognized with the Helen DeVane Carnegie Award, presented to Davidson's most outstanding freshman athlete.
