Wildcats Make History at Tiger Paw Invite

CLEMSON, S.C. – Natalie Atabek and the 4x400-meter relay entered the all-time top-10 performers' lists as the Davidson women's track & field team competed at the Tiger Paw Invite, hosted by Clemson University.
Atabek ran a 5:14.62 in the mile, recording the sixth-best time in program history in the event.
Ashlyn Gruber, Kate Kostecky, Grace Watt and Olivia Menden teamed up for the 4x400-meter relay. The quartet took 17th overall, combining for a time of 4:09.83. The time is the sixth-fastest in Davidson history.
Also in the mile, Sarah Paddon finished 44th in the race, crossing the line in 5:20.14 while Erin Osment ran a time of 5:28.92 for 60th place.
Manya Swick placed 11th in the 3,000-meter run, clocking in at 10:30.93.
Gracie Gordon ran an 8.32 in the 60-meter dash, taking 50th in the preliminaries, while #Kostecky# took 51st in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.68.
In the 800-meter run, Olivia Menden was the Wildcats' top finisher, taking 12th with 2:21.31. Watt finished 16th overall with a 2:23.04, while #Gruber# finished 33rd in the event with a 2:27.14.
The duo of Grace Carr and Ali Cobb finished back-to-back in the 3,000-meter, taking 24th and 25th place, respectively. Carr ran an 11:07.92, while Cobb finished in 11:09.70.
The squad will take a week off before heading to the 2013 Southern Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships, to be hosted at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C., Feb. 23-24.
