Onken Claims CCSA Honor Once Again

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – For the fifth time this season, Davidson swimmer Drew Onken has been named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets held Jan. 28-Feb. 3 as announced by the league Wednesday.
The senior from Marietta, Ga., claimed a pair of individual wins in Davidson's 191-87 triumph over Howard as part of the CCSA Duals this past weekend. Onken won the 100-yard breaststroke, finishing more than three seconds ahead of his competitors. He later won the 200-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 2:07.64. In addition to his individual victories, he was a member of the Wildcats' runner-up 200-yard medley relay that swam a 1:39.73 and a 400-yard freestyle relay that posted the second-best time of the meet with a 3:17.80.
Onken previously earned the honor Oct. 11, Oct. 24, Oct. 31 and Dec. 5. Teammate Dylan Ludwick received the accolade last week, while Meredith Nakano (No. 14) and Kaliya Burton-Akright (Oct. 31) have also been honored this season.
The Wildcats will head to the 2013 CCSA Championship in Athens, Ga., Feb. 21-23.
