McDaniels Earns CFPA Punter of the Week Honorable Mention

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Davidson senior punter Jeff McDaniels was named an FCS Honorable Mention Punter of the Week by the College Football Performance Awards, it was announced Monday.
McDaniels, primarily wide receiver, is punting for the first time in his football career, but has proven effective with a low, rugby-style kick. His two punts Saturday against Mercer were both successful, especially his first, which rolled 52 yards and was downed at the 1-yard line.
Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. McDaniels is the fourth Wildcat to be honored this season, following kick returner Garrett Diehl, tight end Reese Williams and wide receiver William Morris. He was one of 16 FCS punters that were honored.
The Wildcats play their final road game Saturday at Stetson before concluding the season Saturday, Nov. 23, in Richardson Stadium against Campbell.
