Smith Named CCSA Swimmer of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Davidson swimmer Grant Smith has been honored as the Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets held Nov. 4-10 as announced by the league Wednesday.
Smith set a pool record in the new Levine Center facility at Queens in the Wildcats' meet vs. the Royals. He took first in the 400-yard IM with a record-time of 4:08.45, besting the runner up by more than three seconds. Smith then posted two more top-3 individual finishes, taking third in the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 59.07 and touching the wall in 2:09.39 for second place in the 200-yard breaststroke. In addition, he swam the breaststroke leg of Davidson's runner up medley relay, posting a 59.13 split.
The Wildcats will prep for their annual trip to the Total Performance Invitational in Gambier, Ohio. The meet, hosted by Kenyon College, begins the evening of Dec. 5.
