Davidson Trio Claims CCSA Honors

CHARLOTTE N.C. – Three Davidson swimmers have garnered the first Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association honors of the year, as the league announced Elise Lankiewicz as the CCSA Female Swimmer of the Week, Dylan Ludwick as the Male Swimmer of the Week and Brian McRae as the Male Diver of the Week Wednesday morning.
Making her collegiate debut, Lankiewicz finished with top-10 finishes in all three of her individual events at the All-North Carolina Invitational in Greensboro, N.C., this past weekend. The Wilmington, Del., native took home fourth place in the 500-yard free in a time of 5:04.46 and went on to take seventh in the 200-yard butterfly, clocking in at 2:06.23. She was also ninth in the 100-yard butterfly after touching in 57.60. In addition to her individual efforts, Lankiewicz was a member of Davidson's sixth-place 400-yard medley relay and ninth-place 200-yard medley relay and swam on the Wildcats' 400 free relay in helping the team to a third-place finish at the meet.
Ludwick also grabbed a trio of top-10 finishes on the weekend in helping the Wildcats to a fourth-place finish. The junior from Yardley, Pa., took fourth in the 500-yard freestyle in a time of 4:37.85. He also took seventh in both the 200-yard freestyle (1:42.34) and 1650-yard freestyle (16:37.25). Ludwick anchored the 400-yard medley relay with a 46.59 split and led off the 400-yard free relay in a split of 47.80.
McRae finished in the top three in both of his events. The Portland, Maine, native took third in the 3-meter competition with a score of 202.75. He then finished second in the 1-meter after scoring 192.10.
The Wildcats open their home schedule this Saturday when they host East Carolina in a pair of dual meets in Cannon Pool at 1 p.m.
