LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Sal del Giudice led the Davidson men's cross country team to a 12th-place finish at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic Saturday at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park.
Del Giudice placed 32nd in 25 minutes, 36.49 seconds on the 8K course, while Daniel Samet followed in 48th place in 25:45.35. Whitner Chase (59th, 25:59.83), Grayam Sailor-Tynes (79th, 26:19.14) and Ryan Phillips rounded out the top-five scoring group.
The host Louisville Cardinals won the meet with 53 points, while Tennessee's Peter Okwera won individually in 24:20.39, and guided the Volunteers to a runner up finish with 83 points in the competitive field. Chattanooga placed just ahead of Davidson (277 points) with 253 points. Fellow Southern Conference foe Samford placed 16th with 355 points.
The Wildcats will next compete at the Blue Ridge Mountain Open hosted by Appalachian State Oct. 18th.
