Davidson Plays to Scoreless Draw at Wofford Friday Night

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Davidson women's soccer team earned their fourth tie of the season, while pushing their unbeaten streak vs. Wofford to 11 games when they played to a scoreless draw on the road Friday night at Wofford on Snyder Field in women's Southern Conference soccer action.
Davidson, which moved to 5-9-4 overall and 3-4-1 in league play, ran its record to 7-0-4 in the last 11 meetings vs. the Terriers. The Wildcats are now 15-3-4 all-time in the series.
The two teams were fairly even across the board, each taking 14 shots with four of the 'Cats' shots going on goal. Stephanie Piperno had a team-best five shots on the night.
Wofford (7-3-5, 3-1-4 SoCon) held an 8-5 edge on corner kicks.
Rachel Locke collected her fifth shutout of the year, giving her 13 for her career. She stopped five shots, while Wofford's Kimberly Cohn came up with four saves in 110 minutes. Cohn earned her SoCon-leading eighth shutout of the campaign.
Davidson travels to Furman Sunday to finish out the weekend for a 2 p.m. contest.
