Davidson Divers Earn CCSA Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Davidson divers Brian McRae and Kaliya Burton-Akright have been named the CCSA's Male and Female Diver of the Week as announced by the league on Wednesday.
McRae posted a pair of top-3 finishes in the Wildcats' dual meet vs. East Carolina. He scored 233.70 points to play second in the 1-meter competition against the Pirates. The Portland, Maine, native then tallied 228.97 point to take third place in the 3-meter event. The honor is his second consecutive.
Burton-Akright garners her first accolade of the season and second of her career for her performance vs. the Pirates. The Tampa, Fla., native recorded 228.45 points for a third-place finish in the 1-meter event. She then went on to place sixth in the 3-meter with 223.27 points.
The Wildcats will travel to Charleston, S.C, for dual meet action Saturday, Oct. 19, against the College of Charleston Cougars. Start time is set for 11:30 a.m. for diving, 2 p.m. for swimming events.
