Men’s Soccer Set for Saturday Night Tilt with No. 15 Furman

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Fresh off a 2-0 win Wednesday evening, the Davidson men's soccer team resumes conference play this weekend when they host nationally-ranked Furman Saturday at 7 p.m.
In their first match at Alumni Stadium in over three weeks, the Wildcats held Liberty to just five shot attempts, while Chris Pettiglio and Alan Reiter scored early in each half. With the win, Davidson enters 6-4-1 overall and 1-1-0 in the SoCon.
The Wildcats and Furman have met 57 times on the pitch with the Paladins leading the all-time series, 31-24-2.
Sophomore Valeriy Sviderskiy continues to lead Davidson in scoring with six goals, which also ranks second among conference leaders.
Unbeaten over its last eight contests, Furman comes in 7-1-2 overall and 0-0-2 in league play following a scoreless draw at UNCG Tuesday evening.
In addition to averaging 2.20 goals per contest, the Paladins have allowed only one goal during their streak and five on the season.
Tyler Peoples and Bobby Edet lead Furman in scoring with four goals each.
Davidson will travel to conference rival UNCG Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tilt.
