
W. Track & Field Takes 13th at Wake Forest Invite

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson women's track & field team returned to action following the holiday break by taking 13th place at the Wake Forest Invitational, hosted by the Demon Deacons at the JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The squad picked up a total of 13 points on the day. SoCon-foe Elon placed first, followed by Liberty and Wake Forest.
Sarah Paddon took seventh for the Wildcats in the mile run, clocking in at 5:15.64. Cara Wilck also competed in the event, taking 22nd with a time of 5:42.77 followed by Maggie Rickard in 27th with 5:58.20. In the 3,000-meter run, Natalie Atabek and Erin Osment finished seventh and eighth, respectively. Atabek crossed the line in 10:37.39, followed by Osment in 10:37.90.
Olivia Menden also picked up a top-15 finish in the 800-meter run, taking 12th overall with a time of 2:24.15. Ashlyn Gruber joined her in the event, placing 18th in 2:27.89.
Taking third place in the 5,000-meter run was Lauren Carter, who ran a 19:37.35.
Gracie Gordon competed in the preliminaries of both the 60-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Gordon took 24th in the 60, running an 8.26 and placed 28th in the 200 with a mark of 27.87.
In the 400-meter run, Kate Kostecky ran a 1:04.53 for 32nd place. Teammate Ashley Paige finished 38th in a time of 1:08.65.
The Wildcats will return to Wake Forest on February 1 to compete in the JDL Hilton Garden Invitational at the JDL Fast Track.
