DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team got out into the Davidson community Thursday, Sept. 27, by taking part in Davidson Elementary's 10th annual Tigers on the Prowl.
The Wildcats were some of the local heroes to walk with the kids as they helped promote and model a physically active lifestyle. The team has been active this Fall, helping the Girls & Boys Club and assisting in Davidson's Run for Green race a few weeks ago.

Tigers on the Prowl is the school's walking/running recess fitness program. Over the course of the school year, students can walk/run laps during their recess time. As the students accumulate laps/distance, they earn membership into the 10k club (six miles), the 1/2 marathon club (13 miles), the marathon club (26 miles), the 2nd marathon club (52 miles), etc. At each level, they are awarded a color-coded TOTP key chain, while at the marathon level they also earn a coveted TOTP marathon club t-shirt.
The program most importantly helps the kids develop improved physical fitness, learn about the importance of physical activity, have opportunities to practice setting personal fitness goals and feel a sense of accomplishment/pride upons reaching a new goal.
