Men's Cross Country Places Fifth at VT Invitational

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Led by senior Wes Reynolds, the Davidson men's cross country team placed fifth in the Virginia Tech Invitational in a competitive field Friday evening at the Tech Cross Country Course.
Four ACC teams claimed the top four positions. No. 10 Florida State won by a large margin, tallying just 19 points after claiming four of the top five places individually. The Seminoles were led by Zak Seddon, who won in 25:08.53. Wake Forest was second with 72 points and host Virginia Tech was third with 75 points. Georgia Tech placed fourth with 117 points, and was followed by the 'Cats with 141 points. East Tennessee State trailed Davidson with 157 points to claim sixth in the nine-team field.
Reynolds paced the 'Cats in the 8K race with an 11th-place finish in 25:35.83. Fellow senior Vincent Weir followed in 24th in a time of 25:45.19. Sophomore Henry Falotico (43rd place, 26:14.64) and freshmen Ryan Phillips (46th, 26:26.13) and Daniel Samet (52nd, 26:34.20) rounded out Davidson's top-five scoring group.
Davidson next competes at the Charlotte Cross Country Invitational at McAlpine Park, Sept. 28.
