Eckstein Places Sixth at North Carolina Open

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. – Rising sophomore Todd Eckstein placed sixth overall and was the second-highest finishing amateur at the PGA Carolinas' 48th Toshiba North Carolina Open Thursday at The Club at Irish Creek.
Eckstein (Durham, N.C.) fired a five-under-par 66 in the final round to finish the three-round tournament with a score of 204, nine-under par. He finished seven strokes behind the tournament medalist, Charles Frost.
Eckstein has had strong summer, placing 16th earlier in the month in the Carolinas Golf. Amateur Championship
