Fountain Earns Top-10 Finish in Carolinas Amateur Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Rising junior Richard Fountain and rising sophomore Todd Eckstein both earned exemptions for next year's Carolinas Amateur Championship by earning top-30 finishes Sunday in the 98th Amateur Championship of the Carolinas Golf Association hosted by Charlotte Country Club.
Fountain (Raleigh) placed 10th with an even-par 284 to lead three Davidson golf team members. Eckstein (Durham) was three strokes back in a tie for 16th at 287, three-over-par.
Incoming freshman David Sargent (Davidson) also competed, but missed the cut by two strokes.
