GREZ-DOICEAU, Belgium - Davidson rising junior golfer Samuel Echikson is having a successful summer in his native Belgium, winning the Royal Belgian Golf Federation's 2012 National Young Adults Championship by six strokes on Sunday.
Echikson finished at two-over par with a two-round score of 146 (72+74) in difficult weather conditions on the Golf du Bercuit course.
His victory follows a strong outing in Belgium's National Stroke Play Championship at Royal Ostend Golf Club, which concluded on July 1. Echikson finished in a tie for seventh place in the event with a four-round score of 298 (+18), six strokes behind the tournament champion.
Echikson also competed as an amateur in an Alps Tour event earlier this month, the Flory Van Donck Trophy, in which he missed the cut by just one stroke. The Alps Tour is a non-profit association established in 2001 by Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland to give young golfers the opportunity to play and get better experience in pro tournaments.
