DAVIDSON, N.C. — Fresh off earning the program's first Southern Conference regular season title, number one-seeded Davidson now seeks their first tournament title when the Wildcats open the SoCon Women's Basketball Tourney on Saturday vs. Wofford at the Justice Center in Asheville, N.C.
The Opening Tip
Davidson (21-8, 17-3 SoCon) looks to capture the program's first tournament title when it opens up against ninth-seeded Wofford (13-17, 5-15 SoCon) in the quarterfinals on Saturday at 12 p.m. in the Justice Center on the campus of UNC Asheville.
Wofford opened the tournament against College of Charleston, earning a 64-53 victory on Friday.
SoCon Tournament
The first two rounds of the tournament will be held at Justice Center/Kimmel Arena on the campus of UNC Asheville, while the semis and championship game will be televised on ESPN 3 at the U.S. Cellular Center.

All contest for the Davidson women's basketball games during the tournament will be broadcast on teamline by Derek Smith and Leslie Urban, and can also be followed on the SoCon Tournament live stats.
The All-Time Series/Tournament Meeting ...
... has Davidson leading 26-13 after splitting this year's two-game series. The Wildcats have still won 19 of the past 22 contests overall in the series. This year saw both teams split their two-game series, with each team winning on their own floor.
Davidson and Wofford have faced each other three times in the SoCon, with the 'Cats holding a 2-1 advantage. The Wildcats took the last encounter, a 71-62 quarterfinal win during the 2006-07 campaign.
Last Meeting...
... Sophia Aleksandravicius, Laura Murray and Shneeka Center each scored 10 points, and Davidson held Wofford to 23 percent shooting from the floor to earn a 63-39 victory. Aleksandravicius corralled 10 rebounds for her 30th career double-double.
The Wildcats held Wofford to 12-of-53 from the field and 3-for-14 from 3-point range. Leading by 12 early in the second half, the Wildcats went on a decisive 17-5 run to open a 24-point cushion with 8:28 remaining in the second half and never looked back.
SoCon Honors
Head coach Michele Savage, Sophia Aleksandravicius and Laura Murray were all honored by the coaches and media for their outstanding seasons. Coach Savage was voted the Coach of the Year by both the coaches and media, while Aleksandravicius was the Player of the Year and Defender of the Year as voted on by the coaches. The junior joined Murray on both the coaches and media's All-SoCon First Team.

Tournament History
Davidson has played in every round of the tournament at least once, here's a look at how the Wildcats have fared in each round:
First round: 3-3
Quarterfinals: 7-8
Semifinals: 1-6
Finals: 0-1
Davidson is still shooting for its first SoCon Tournament title. If the 'Cats can win two contests to make it to the championship game, it would mark the first time since the 1998-99 season that Davidson has made it to the finals when it fell to Appalachian State that year.
A Look Ahead
Should the Wildcats advance, they would take on the winner of fourth-seeded Samford and fifth-seeded Elon on Sunday, March 4 with the start time of 12 p.m. at the U.S. Cellular Center.
