Davidson Men’s Soccer Announces Class of 2016

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Six freshmen will be looking to contribute to Davidson men's soccer's quest for a Southern Conference Championship this coming fall, as head coach Matt Spear and coach/recruiting director Kevin O'Brien announced the Class of 2016 Friday.
“We are very excited about this incoming group,” said head coach Matt Spear. “They are hungry for success and they will be wonderful additions to our culture of desire, belief and ambition.”
Three of the newcomers are in-state products. Forward/midfielder George Kaloudis will join the Wildcats from nearby Myers Park H.S. in Charlotte, while forward Alec Rotunda (Grimsley H.S.) and midfielder CJ Tikvart (Broughton H.S.) hail from Greensboro and Raleigh, respectively.
Midfielder/defender Shane Macnamara and forward Valeriy Sviderskiy will join the Wildcats from the state of Virginia. Macnamara (Arlington, Va./Washington-Lee) is the younger brother of Greg Macnamara, a Davidson team captain the past two seasons as a junior and senior. Sviderskiy (Richmond, Va.), a native of Ukraine, was an all-state player at Mills E. Godwin H.S.
Johnson City, Tenn. native Andrew Kenneson (Science Hill) will look to mitigate the loss of three-year starting goalkeeper Chip Sanders to graduation.
The 2012 Davidson men's soccer season will begin in August.
