Peitz Wins Third Swimmer of the Week Honor

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Davidson College's Geoffrey Peitz has been selected as the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for meets completed Jan. 23-29, the league announced today.
It's the third time this season the senior has won the honor, and the sixth time a Wildcat has won the award.
Peitz won a pair of individual events and one relay event in Davidson's victory over Howard last weekend at the CCSA Duals. He swam on the first-place 400-yard medley relay team that broke a 12-year-old pool record with a time of 3:20.39, besting the old mark by over four seconds. His 49.60 backstroke split is the fastest in the CCSA this year and is only the fourth sub 50-second 100 backstroke in the CCSA's history.
Peitz took home first-place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:00.04 before touching in at 46.91 in the 100-yard freestyle.
The Wildcats return to action at the CCSA?Championships in Athens, Ga., Feb. 16-18.
