Davidson Wrestling Goes Winless at Pitt Duals

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Davidson wrestling team suffered three defeats at the Pitt Duals, falling to Princeton 48-0, Columbia 49-0 and Eastern Michigan 41-3 at the Pitt Duals hosted by the University of Pittsburgh Saturday at the Fitzgerald Field House.
Each Davidson opponent featured a nationally-ranked wrestler in its lineup. Princeton (4-8) and Columbia (3-1) each earned four pins in defeating the Wildcats (0-6). No. 20 Adam Krop led Princeton at 141 pounds earning a win by fall. No. 20 Jake O'Hara earned a win by technical fall at 157 pounds for Columbia.
Eastern Michigan (7-3) earned two pins, while senior Tyler Mullen earned the lone win for the 'Cats. Mullen earned a 6-3 decision over Aaron Risch at 165 pounds. Davidson junior Matt Zarth faced No. 16 Jared Germaine at 125 pounds, yielding an 8-2 decision.
Davidson forfeited the heavyweight bout in each match.
Davidson will return to action Thursday at VMI for a Southern Conference match.
