Skeadas (71+66+70=207, -6) entered the day tied for first with Mississippi's Joe David and Akron's Charlie Bull at five-under-par, but Hunter Green of Middle Tennessee State fired a four-under 67 to finish at 205, eight-under-par.
Skeadas' one-under 70 led the 'Cats in the third and final round on the par-71, 7,100-yard course. Sophomores Richard Fountain (69+75+72) and Sam Echikson (73+70+73) placed in a tie for 22nd at 216, three-over-par. Freshman Todd Eckstein and senior Jackson Taylor both finished strong, firing one-over 72's to place 39th (220) and 47th (223), respectively.
Davidson placed two strokes outside the top five behind Memphis (856, +4). Middle Tennessee State (844, -8) won by one stroke over Mississippi (845, -7). Defending Southern Conference champion Georgia Southern placed third at 848, three-under-par and was followed by Oklahoma at 851, one-under-par.
Southern Conference member College of Charleston (859, +7) trailed Davidson in seventh, as did host Vanderbilt (865, +13) in eighth. SoCon members Samford (873) and Western Carolina placed 10th and 12th, respectively.
Davidson will next compete at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate Oct. 3-4.
