Lantz Leads 'Cats at Rain-Shortened Winthrop Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Freshman Andrew Lantz led the Davidson men's track and field team with a second-place finish in 1500-meter run on a cold and rainy Saturday at the Winthrop Invitational on Irwin Belk Track.
Lantz led five Wildcat runners in 3:57.64. Classmate Nate Faubion also earned a top-five finish, completing the 800-meter run in 1:59.85.
Senior JinHan Song was slated to compete in the 400-meter dash finals after posting a preliminary time of 49.70 seconds Friday, but he did not compete due to the conditions. Eduardo Vaca, Song, Lee Dorsey and Bryce Jones earned a fourth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay in 43.97 seconds.
The Wildcats will return to action Saturday at the Terrier Relays hosted by Wofford College.
