Divers Conclude Season at NCAA Zone B Diving Championships

ATHENS, Ga. -- After putting together successful freshman campaigns, both Brian McRae and Kaliya Burton-Akright finished their season as competition concluded at the 2011 NCAA Zone B Diving Championships in Athens, Ga., this afternoon.
McRae finished 43rd on both the 1-meter (140.30) and 3-meter (146.90), and Burton-Akright finished 39th on both the 3-meter (159.95) and 1-meter (175.25). Burton-Akright won the 1-meter event in her first try at the 2011 CCSA Championships and was named CCSA Women's Diver of the Week three times this season. McRae was also named CCSA Men's Diver of the Week three times in his freshman campaign.
Nick McCrory (Duke), Landon Mazullo (Florida State), Daniel Mazzferro (Auburn), Michael Wright (Tennessee), Ryan Helms (Tennessee), Adam Booher (Alabama), Samuel Dorman (Miami), Brandon Makinson (Georgia Tech) and Michael Neubacher (Florida State) advanced to the NCAA Championships on the men's side.
Brittany Viola (Miami), Abby Johnston (Duke), Vennie Dantin (Auburn), Taryn Zack (South Carolina), Carrie Dragland (Miami), Monica Dodson (Florida), Hannah Moore (Georgia), Thea Vock (Miami) and Haley Ishimatsu (Duke) advanced to the NCAA Championships on the women's side.
