Davidson College Announces National Girls and Women in Sports Day, Feb. 19

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Davidson College athletics will host a National Girls and Women in Sports Day on Saturday, Feb. 19 prior to the women's basketball game against Georgia Southern at 2 p.m. in John M. Belk Arena.
There will be a free clinic for girls in grades K-6 beginning at 12 p.m. Clinic participants will receive sports specific instruction from the Wildcat women's soccer, volleyball, cheerleading and field hockey teams. Participants will also receive lunch and free admission to the game.
National Girls and Women in Sports Day is marked annually with events around the country and on Capitol Hill to commemorate the achievements of girls and women in athletics. It is also an important day to promote the continued expansion of opportunities for girls and women to play sports and live physically active lives.
