ROCK HILL, S.C. — Sophomore Chris Mark pushed his singles win streak to three straight, but the Wildcats got just one more singles win on the afternoon in falling 5-2 to the Winthrop Eagles in a non-conference men's tennis match in Rock Hill, S.C. on Wednesday.

Mark scored a 7-6, 6-3 straight set win at No. 2 singles to move his singles record to 4-6, but the Eagles (3-5) captured wins at four of the other spots as well as earning the doubles point to prevail.

The Wildcats (3-7) other win came from sophomore Kevin Moore, who took home a 7-5, 1-6, 10-4 decision over Guy Kubi at No. 4 to even his singles record on the year at 4-4.

The match started with the Eagles earning 8-1, 8-6 and 8-4 wins at all three doubles spots to secure a 1-0 lead in team points.

Davidson takes a break before returning to the courts on Mar. 5 and 6 with matches at nationally-ranked Wake Forest and then come home to open Southern Conference play against Chattanooga. Match times are set for 3 and 5 p.m.
