WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — The No. 37 Wake Forest Demon Deacons took all three doubles matches and then earned wins in five of the six singles matches to earn a 6-1 win over Davidson on Saturday evening at the Wake Forest Indoor Tennis Center.

It marked the fifth nationally-ranked opponent the Wildcats (3-8) have played this year. They had not faced Wake Forest (5-4) since the 2008 campaign.

Earning the Wildcats lone point was junior Calum Gee (Ayr, Scotland), who returned to the starting lineup after missing the past few matches. He returned in winning fashion, scoring a 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles over Conner Sherwood.

Davidson now opens up Southern Conference play against Chattanooga on Sunday. Match time is set for 1 p.m.
