Wrestling to Host Senior Day Sunday

DAVIDSON, N.C. –
The Davidson wrestling team will honor seniors Alex Radsky, Vitaly Radsky and Charlie Wolff prior to their regular season finale against Southern Conference foe Appalachian State Sunday at 2 p.m. in Belk Arena.

Fans unable to attend can watch the match via live video and live stats.

Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson heads into their regular season finale with a 5-12 record overall, and a 0-4 record in SoCon competition. Seniors Alex Radsky (133 pounds) and Vitaly Radsky (141) are currently leading the way for the Wildcats. Alex leads the team with a 24-8 record and has won seven out of his last eight matches, including three by fall. Vitaly's record stands at 18-4 after winning eight of his last 10 matches, including two pins. Classmate Charlie Wolff boasts the teams third-best record at 17-9. The injury-depleted Wildcats have lost their last four matchups: their last victory coming from a 27-19 score over Belmont Abbey.

Scouting the Mountaineers:
Coming to Davidson off an 8-31 loss against Virginia, App State is 7-10-1 overall, and 1-3 in SoCon competition. Their last SoCon matchup was against VMI, where they earned a 26-11 win. The previous matches against Chattanooga, UNCG, and The Citadel were all losses, with scores of 10-27, 20-21, and 7-26, respectively. This week, redshirt junior Austin Trotman was tabbed SoCon Wrestler of the Week for the second time this season, after his victories against VMI, and an upset over No.18 Jon Fausey of Virginia. Trotman, who is ranked 19th in the country leads the team with an 27-7 record this season. Kyle Blevins is 32-7 and ranked No. 18 at 165 pounds, while Savva Kostis boasts a 21-10 record at 149 pounds.

The Series:
Appalachian State has held the upper hand, as the 'Cats have managed just win over them since their first meeting during the 1979-80 season. The Mountaineers prevailed last year in Boone, N.C. by a 42-8 score, with the Radsky twins earning the lone wins. App State won, 25-9, in their last visit to Belk Arena in 2009.
