Wildcat Swimming Concludes Total Performance Invite at Kenyon College

GAMBIER, Ohio — The Davidson men's and women's swimming teams concluded its three-day meet at the Total Performance Invitational on the campus of Kenyon College on Saturday by placing third on the men's side and fourth on the women's side.
For the men, Drew Onken and Geoffrey Peitz led the way on the final day. The duo swam in the 200 IM, where they finished second and third, respectively. Onken touched the pads at 1:51.03 and Peitz was .26 seconds behind.
Peitz took home first in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 48.99 and Onken scored a second in the 200 Breaststroke with a time of 2:02.23. Onken also tallied a second place finish in the 200 Back with a time of 1:50.96.
The Wildcats' “A” relay team in the 200 Medley finished third with a time of 1:32.04. The “B” team of David Kerman, Thomas Bigham, Drew Glenn and Quinn Waggoner also competed in the event and had a time of 1:39.06.
Also having a strong finish for the weekend was Dylan Ludwick and Curtis Chaney. The pair competed in the 500 Free and touched the pads second and third, respectively. Ludwick came in at a time of 4:34.84, while Chaney was right behind him with a time of 4:37.85.
Meredith Nakano led the Wildcat women on Saturday. She scored a second and third place finishes in the 200 IM and 200 Breaststroke. She came in with a time of 2:06.80 in the IM and 2:20.00 in the Breaststroke.
Lauren Kamperman had a fourth place finish in the 200 IM as she scored a time of 2:07.08.
Mackenzie Robinson won the consolation finals in the 200 Back as she came in with a time of 2:05.74.
Rounding out the Wildcats top-three finishers was the relay team in the 400 Free as the “A” team of Nakano, Kamperman, Jean DeOrnellas and Caroline Vrana had a time of 3:29.08, good for third place.
Davidson returns home for a Senior Day meet against Gardner-Webb, Dec. 21, at 1 p.m.
